About
The Hornbill Music Festival takes place at Kisama, near Kohima in Nagaland, as part of the broader Hornbill Festival celebrating the state's sixteen major Naga tribes. It is best known for the Hornbill International Rock Contest, a battle of the bands drawing acts from across India and abroad, and bills itself as one of the country's longest-running and most eclectic music events. Rock and amplified genres share the stage with the traditional Naga folk music and dance performed during the day.
