Overview
About
Hura Tapairu is a Tahitian dance competition created in 2004, held annually in Tahiti in November. Open only to small troupes of fewer than thirty dancers, it stands apart from the Heiva through freer choreography, more contemporary music and inventive costumes. It has become French Polynesia's second most followed dance competition after the Heiva, drawing troupes from abroad as well.
