About
The Hutúz festival ran in Rio de Janeiro from 2000 to 2009, created by the CUFA organization (Central Única das Favelas) and considered Latin America's largest hip hop festival. Held first at the Teatro Carlos Gomes and later at Canecão, it traditionally opened on November 4th, Favela Day. The event launched and celebrated artists such as MV Bill, Emicida, Criolo and Racionais MC's, leaving a lasting mark on Brazilian hip hop culture.
