About
Iceland Airwaves takes place every autumn in Reykjavík, Iceland, running since 1999, when it began as a one-off event in an airport hangar. Now the country's longest-running music festival, it spreads across numerous venues and bars in the city centre, showcasing a multi-genre lineup of rock, electronic, pop, folk and hip-hop that pairs the local scene with rising international acts. It has hosted future stars such as James Blake and Florence and the Machine before they broke through.
