About
Founded in 1984 by two ballooning enthusiasts working with local economic bodies, the event takes place at the Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu airport, southeast of Montreal. Each day features two launches, one early morning and one late afternoon, plus tethered night flights alongside concerts and comedy shows. Now the largest hot air balloon gathering in Canada, it draws several hundred thousand visitors.
