International Festival of Children's Folk Ensembles FESTIVAL OF THE CHILDREN OF MOUNTAINS

Organized since 1992 by the Sokół Cultural Centre in Nowy Sącz, the Festival of the Children of Mountains (Święto Dzieci Gór) is one of Poland's most colourful folklore gatherings. About 400 children aged 7 to 14, from Polish and foreign ensembles representing various mountain and Carpathian regions, meet in Nowy Sącz, Krynica Zdrój and Szczawnica for concerts of traditional music, dance and games. The festival is known for its "friendship pairs", pairing children from different cultures to live and perform together throughout the event.
