About
The Java Jazz Festival takes place every year in Jakarta, Indonesia, since 2005, founded by businessman Peter F. Gontha. One of the largest jazz festivals in Asia, it brings together Indonesian and international artists across multiple stages, spanning smooth jazz, fusion, bebop and funk alongside soul, R&B and reggae. It stands out for pairing jazz with local traditions such as gamelan or dangdut rhythms.
