About
Founded in 2001 in Jeonju, South Korea, the Jeonju International Sori Festival is the country's main event for traditional music and, since 2011, world music. Centred on pansori, it also features sanjo, jungga, folk instruments and Korean fusion forms, through concerts, workshops and international artistic projects at the Sori Arts Center and in Jeonju's hanok village. It has repeatedly ranked among the world's best international festivals in Songlines magazine, the only Asian event on the list.
