Juaforró

Juaforró is the São João festival of Juazeiro do Norte, in Ceará state, founded in 2000 by singer-songwriter Alcymar Monteiro to bring the city's June celebrations together in one place. Held at the Parque de Eventos Padre Cícero, it blends traditional accordion-driven forró pé de serra with contemporary electronic forró, alongside quadrilha dances and local cultural traditions such as maneiro-pau and coco. Spanning several days, it draws hundreds of thousands of visitors and ranks among the major popular festivals of Brazil's Northeast.
