Karavan Festival

The Karavan Festival runs over three days each August in Lit-et-Mixe, in the Landes, organized by the Jam (Jazz à Mézos) association as a successor to the manouche jazz festival formerly held in Saint-Julien-en-Born. Staged under a circus big top on the village school square, it mixes gypsy swing, jazz, flamenco and world music, with paid access to headline acts and a free festive village featuring an outdoor stage, food stalls, a manouche-style dance and DJ sets. Past guests have included guitarists Tchavolo Schmitt and Yorgui Loeffler.
