Kaustinen Folk Music Festival

The Kaustinen Folk Music Festival has taken place in the Finnish village of Kaustinen since 1968 and has become the largest folk music and dance festival in the Nordic countries. It grew out of a local fiddle tradition more than 250 years old, which UNESCO inscribed on its Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2021. Spread over a week, the event draws tens of thousands of visitors around Finnish folk music and bands from around the world.
