Kiso Music Festival

Founded in 1975 in the mountain town of Kiso, in Nagano Prefecture, the Kiso Music Festival is one of Japan's oldest classical music festivals. It brings together performers for chamber music, from Mozart and Beethoven to Messiaen and Shostakovich, held at Kiso Junior High School's gymnasium and the Bunkaka Park cultural hall, sometimes with outdoor alpine horn performances.
