Kitakyushu International Music Festival

Founded in 1988 to mark the 25th anniversary of the city of Kitakyushu, this classical music festival began as a companion event to the Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival in Finland before passing under municipal management. Concerts are held at Hibiki Hall in the Yahata Higashi district, mixing chamber music with jazz-inflected arrangements and programs aimed at families and children.
