Kmochův Kolín

Held in Kolín every summer since 1962, this international festival honours local composer and bandmaster František Kmoch, a key figure of Czech brass and wind band music. Over three days, more than a thousand musicians from the Czech Republic and abroad (Slovakia, Hungary, Finland) perform on Charles Square and around town, mixing wind band repertoire with jazz and world music. Its centerpiece is a mass concert bringing every orchestra together to play Kmoch's best known pieces.
