Kuopio Dance Festival

Founded in 1970 in the Finnish city of Kuopio, this summer festival is the longest-running contemporary dance event in the Nordic countries and the largest of its kind in the region. Held each June, it brings together around a hundred performances alongside dance courses, workshops, a marketplace and artist talks, mixing new international trends with more established works. Its programme, open to both foreign companies and local creations, draws professionals and dance newcomers alike.
