Kusatsu International Summer Music Academy & Festival

Founded in 1980, this classical music festival takes place each summer in Kusatsu, a mountain hot spring town in Gunma Prefecture, over roughly two weeks. It combines an academy where international faculty give masterclasses and public lessons with a concert series open to the public, with on site accommodation for participants and a scholarship scheme for young musicians.
