Les Guitares Vertes

Launched in 2004 around Jumilhac-le-Grand in the Dordogne, this touring festival explores a different theme and culture each summer through the guitar, an instrument found across nearly every musical style. Concerts move over several weeks between Saint-Jory-de-Chalais, Thiviers, Saint-Paul-la-Roche, Villars, Lanouaille, and Nontron, in town halls, churches, and outdoor venues. The lineup ranges from African and world music to rock and chanson, with the standout Green Guitars Orchestra, a participatory ensemble that invites audience members to play alongside the musicians.
