Les Rares Talents

Founded in 2011 in Montreuil by Cameroonian saxophonist Hilaire Penda, the Rares Talents festival takes place every spring across several venues in the city (the Méliès cinema, Berthelot theatre, Café La Pêche) as well as in nearby Bobigny. It celebrates world music and genre-crossing Afro-descended sounds through concerts, dance and encounters, deliberately staying outside mainstream commercial circuits. The lineup pairs emerging artists with more established names from the Afro and jazz scenes.
