Love Parade

Love Parade began in Berlin in 1989 as a techno demonstration started by DJ Dr. Motte, marching under the slogan 'Frieden, Freude, Eierkuchen' (peace, joy, pancakes). What started as a small march on Kurfürstendamm grew into a parade of sound trucks drawing over a million people along Straße des 17. Juni through the 1990s. After cancellations and a move to the Ruhr region from 2007, the event ended for good following the 2010 Duisburg disaster.
