Overview
About
Founded in 1988 in San Diego by conductor David Atherton, this summer classical music festival gathers principal players and concertmasters from top North American orchestras (New York, Cleveland, Philadelphia, Los Angeles) for performances in La Jolla and on the UC San Diego campus. True to its name, the programming centers on Mozart while also exploring the broader 18th and 19th century repertoire. It has become one of the largest annual gatherings of orchestral principal players on the continent.
