About
Founded in 1962 in the port city of Kotka in southeastern Finland, this maritime festival is one of the country's largest summer gatherings, drawing several hundred thousand visitors each year. It traditionally opens with a large harbour parade that attracts tens of thousands of spectators, followed by concerts, markets and family activities across the Kantasatama district, much of it free to attend. The event celebrates the region's maritime culture and heritage.
