About
Founded in 1993 on the initiative of the Intergovernmental Agency of La Francophonie, MASA (African Performing Arts Market) takes place every two years in Abidjan. This major gathering of African performing arts brings together theatre, dance, music, slam, storytelling, circus and puppetry, with artists coming from dozens of countries across the continent and its diaspora. Conceived both as a public festival and a professional platform, it aims to boost artist mobility and the export of African cultural productions.
