Overview

About

The Mejiro Ba-Rock Music Festival was held in the Mejiro district of Tokyo, turning historic neighborhood buildings such as the Mejiro Anglican Episcopal Church, St. Mary's Cathedral designed by Kenzo Tange, and the Jiyu Gakuen Myonichikan school building by Frank Lloyd Wright into concert venues. Its name, playing on "ba" (place) and "rock" while also nodding to baroque music, captured the idea of Mejiro as a gathering place for "rock" spirits. Centered on baroque and early music, the festival ran four times between 2005 and 2008.
