Overview
About
Launched in 2009 by Violent Femmes musician Brian Ritchie on behalf of the MONA museum, MONA FOMA was Tasmania's largest contemporary music festival. Originally staged in Hobart, it expanded to Launceston from 2019 onward, blending music with sound art, dance, theatre and visual art in a deliberately eclectic lineup. Its founder announced the festival's end in 2024, citing declining attendance.
