About

Monsters of Rock began in 1980 at the Donington Park motor racing circuit in England's East Midlands, conceived as a single show closing Rainbow's UK tour before becoming an annual event that ran for fifteen years. Dedicated to hard rock and heavy metal, its outdoor stage hosted bands such as Judas Priest, Scorpions and Saxon.
