Movement takes place each year at Hart Plaza, on the banks of the Detroit River, in the city regarded as the birthplace of techno. Founded in 2000 as the Detroit Electronic Music Festival before adopting its current name in 2003, it is among the longest running electronic music festivals in the world, with a lineup centered on techno.
