About
Founded in 1976 in Angoulême, Musiques Métisses initially focused on jazz before broadening its programming to music from Africa, the Caribbean and Latin America, hence its current name adopted in 1985. It ranks among the first French festivals to showcase world music. Concerts take place across several cultural venues in the city, including the Musée d'Angoulême and La Nef.
