New Orleans Festival

The New Orleans Festival took place annually in Innsbruck, Austria, from its founding in 1998 by musician Markus Linder, built around a guest artist from New Orleans performing alongside local musicians. For its duration the city took on a Southern jazz and blues atmosphere, opening with a street parade and continuing with concerts on Landhausplatz and at venues around the old town. After twenty five editions the festival held its farewell run, giving way to a successor event, New Orleans Blues & More, hosted at the Bierstindl.
