About
The Hajkutter Festival has been held in the small harbour town of Nysted in southern Denmark since 2009, on the first weekend of August, just before Rostock's Hanse Sail. Over five days, the event pairs live acoustic music with the arrival of old wooden fishing cutters nicknamed 'hajkutter' (shark cutters), with ten to twenty vessels sailing in from countries around the Baltic Sea. The festival closes with a regatta from Nysted to Rostock, sent off with a salute from historic cannons.
