Oppikoppi

Oppikoppi was held every year in early August near Northam, in South Africa's Limpopo province, from its founding in 1994. Originally rock-focused, the festival broadened its lineup over the years to include jazz, house, world music and acoustic acts across several open-air stages set on hilly terrain (its name comes from the Afrikaans phrase 'op die koppie', meaning 'on the hill'). It was regarded as one of the country's biggest music festivals before its regular edition ceased.
