About
The Phoenicia International Festival of the Voice is held each year in early August in the small hamlet of Phoenicia, in New York's Catskill Mountains. It grew out of a 2009 charity concert, "Opera under the Stars," organized by local opera singers, before becoming a full festival dedicated to vocal music in 2010. The program blends opera, gospel, world music and musical theater, built on the idea of the human voice as an instrument of peace and artistic expression.
