Quitutes e batuques

Quitutes e Batuques is a traveling cultural festival born from an idea in 2008 and first held the following year, organizing artistic exchanges between Brazil and a different guest country each edition. The format brings a group of foreign artists to several Brazilian cities for artistic residencies with local musicians, punctuated by public workshops in music, dance and gastronomy. Across several editions the festival has drawn more than 20,000 people, placing the emphasis on exchange and encounter rather than on stage performance alone.
