Rencontres de folklore internationales

Founded in 1975 in Fribourg, Switzerland, the Rencontres de folklore internationales are the country's only annual event of this kind. Each summer, eight to ten ensembles from different countries perform, bringing together nearly 500 dancers, singers and musicians for shows, concerts, demonstrations and traditional rituals. The Village of Nations, set up on Place Georges-Python, showcases the regional cuisine and traditional crafts of the invited countries.
