Rising Sun Rock Festival

Rising Sun Rock Festival takes place each summer in Ishikari, on the island of Hokkaido, where it began in 1999 as Japan's first large-scale outdoor rock festival to run through the night. Over two days and several stages it showcases Japanese rock and indie acts alongside pop, electronic and hip-hop, building to a final set that wraps up at sunrise. Organized by WESS, it draws fans from across the country and ranks among Japan's major summer music events.
