About
Founded in 1985 in Rio de Janeiro, Rock in Rio took place on a purpose built site, the Cidade do Rock, constructed in the Barra da Tijuca district. The festival has since expanded beyond Brazil, with editions held in Lisbon, Madrid and Las Vegas, and presents a broad rock and pop lineup mixing international and Brazilian artists.
