Rootz: The Green City Music Festival

Organized by Calliope, the Pittsburgh Folk Music Society, this festival takes place in Mellon Park, in the Shadyside neighborhood. It continues the earlier Smoky City Folk Festival under a new name since 2008, reflecting the city's efforts to move past its industrial, smoky past. The lineup brings together local and regional musicians around folk and roots music.
