Santa Maria Festival

The Santa Maria Festival takes place on Santa Maria beach on the island of Sal in Cape Verde. This open-air music festival brings together local and international artists, blending Cape Verdean, Portuguese, Brazilian and African sounds, from Afrobeat to reggae. The beachfront atmosphere is rounded out by food and drink stalls serving local specialties like grogue and ponche, in a spirit of cultural exchange.
