About
Held every year in the courtyard of Schwerin Castle in Germany, at the heart of the residential ensemble formed by the castle, the state theatre and the regional museum, the Schlossfestspiele Schwerin are the highlight of the Mecklenburgisches Staatstheater's season. This theatre, whose history dates back to 1563, presents musical theatre and opera productions performed by its ensemble and orchestra, one of the oldest in Germany. The programme mixes classic works, ballet, popular open-air concerts and Low German revues.
