Overview
About
Founded in 2003 and based since 2007 at the Artscape Theatre Centre in Cape Town, Suidoosterfees ('south-easter festival') is an Afrikaans-language arts festival held each southern-hemisphere spring, between late April and May. It offers theatre, music, dance and public discussions, with programming geared toward inclusion and reconciliation in South African society. Its name refers to Cape Town's characteristic south-easterly wind, a symbol of renewal.
