Szene Openair

Szene Openair takes place each year on the banks of the Alter Rhein in Lustenau, Vorarlberg, and ranks among the largest rock festivals in western Austria. Born in 1990 out of a local jazz seminar, it started as a single-day event featuring only regional bands before growing, within a decade, into a three-day gathering drawing international artists and nearly ten thousand visitors. Run by the Szene Lustenau cultural association and staffed by several hundred volunteers, it showcases the breadth of Vorarlberg's alternative music scene.
