The Taubertal Festival has taken place since 1996 on the Eiswiese, a meadow beside the Tauber river in Rothenburg ob der Tauber, bordered on one side by a steep slope and on the other by the water. The lineup mixes rock and pop with international headliners, in a compact setting that has kept its character despite decades of audience growth.
