Founded in 1974 in South Jutland, Tønder Festival is one of Europe's oldest and largest gatherings devoted to folk and roots music. It takes place in the small town of Tønder, where several stages are spread across marquees, halls and outdoor venues, with a lineup blending Nordic traditions, americana and the international folk scene.
