Trænafestivalen

Running since 2003 on the islands of Husøya and Sanna in the remote Træna archipelago off northern Norway, this festival can only be reached by boat from the mainland. Rock, pop and electronic acts from Norway and abroad perform in unusual settings, an ancient cave, a church with blacked-out windows to shut out the midnight sun, or simple tents facing the ocean. The dramatic island setting under the midnight sun has seen it named among Europe's most distinctive festivals.
