About
Wacken Open Air has taken place since 1990 in the farming village of Wacken, in Schleswig-Holstein, on former agricultural land now covering more than 240 hectares. Dedicated to metal in its many forms, it is regarded as the largest festival of its kind in the world and now draws around 85,000 attendees from more than 80 countries across eight stages.
