About
The Weeley Festival took place only once, in late August 1971, in a field near the village of Weeley, close to Clacton-on-Sea in Essex. Planned as a small local fundraiser, it drew between 110,000 and 150,000 attendees, with a continuous bill alternating electric and acoustic sets day and night. T. Rex, Rod Stewart and the Faces, Rory Gallagher and King Crimson were among the acts on the bill.
