About
The Woody Guthrie Folk Festival takes place in Okemah, Oklahoma, the singer's hometown, on the weekend closest to July 14, his birthday. Launched in 1998, it celebrates the father of American folk music with indoor shows at the Brick Street Cafe and Crystal Theatre followed by outdoor performances at the Pastures of Plenty, featuring artists such as Arlo Guthrie, Billy Bragg and Tom Paxton. At the Guthrie family's request that it remain open to everyone, admission is free.
