World of Music, Arts and Dance

WOMAD Cáceres, in Spain, grew out of Peter Gabriel's original idea of bringing the world's musics together, and has been held in the city since 1992. Each year the whole town turns into a stage, with concerts, craft markets, workshops and exhibitions at the Gran Teatro, Plaza de San Jorge and the main square, blending traditional and contemporary music from across many continents. The entire festival is free and open to all, making it a beloved fixture for the Extremadura city.
