Abril Pro Rock

Abril Pro Rock is an independent music festival launched in 1993 in Recife, in the wake of the Manguebeat movement, by producer and curator Paulo André de Moraes Pires. The longest-running independent festival in Brazil, it traditionally takes place in April and showcases both nationally and internationally known rock and metal acts alongside new talent and local bands. Paused in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic, it went on hiatus again in 2025 because of financial difficulties.
