About
Bangalore Open Air is India's only dedicated open-air metal festival, founded in 2012 by Salman Syed after a collaboration with Germany's Wacken Open Air. Its first edition, in June 2012, was headlined by German thrash metal band Kreator, and the festival has since hosted acts such as Napalm Death, Nile and Overkill. Held annually in Bengaluru, it remains one of the few events in India to bring international extreme metal bands to the country.
