Overview
About
Founded in 2007 by the association Les Décâblés, the Altitude Jazz Festival is a winter festival of jazz and contemporary music spread across the Briançon area, including Serre Chevalier and several villages in the Hautes-Alpes. It takes over around twenty unusual and heritage venues for its concerts, with programming ranging across contemporary jazz, improvised music, world music and electronic sounds. Roughly half the concerts are free, reflecting the festival's focus on discovery, emerging artists and accessibility.
